Our Founding Team & Advisors

Debbie is the inventor and co-founder of HERO Medical Technologies. She is a nurse practitioner trained at the University of Pennsylvania where she later joined UPenn's School of Nursing as clinical faculty. Over 20 years of clinical experience led to her inventions and patented cap-shaped bandage. Now, an Associate Scholar at Penn Medicine's Center for Global Health, and an Affiliate Member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Debbie's passion for filling gaps in early care of head injury drives her to  develop this AI-based technology.

Sherrin is the co-founder of HERO Medical Technologies and helped realize the need for expedited emergency care, especially after mass casualty events. As a retired officer in the Royal Australian Navy, she served at US Naval Station Mayport and coordinated emergency supply chain efforts after the Haiti Earthquake in 2010. With a dual MBA and MA in human resource management, she has worked with successful startups and large corporations to expand reach and scale hardware and software services. She continues to work in the field of logistics and sales in the transportation industry.

Joel S. Kanter is a veteran investor and executive with a 40+ year track record of identifying, financing, and scaling high-impact ventures across healthcare, technology, and innovation-driven sectors. As President of Windy City, Inc., a private family office, and former CEO of a publicly traded financial services firm, Mr. Kanter has helped launch and grow hundreds of companies—many of which have become industry leaders.

Tom is co-founder of 360 Life Sciences Advisors. As Senior Advisor for HERO Medical Technologies, Tom helps guide and grow our multidisciplinary team and guide our strategy towards commercialization. He is the former CEO of Amniox Medical and former President of Smith & Nephew Wound Care North America. In addition, as former Senior VP of SonoSite, he has experience with Department of Defense contracting.

Dr. Blaivas, our Chief Medical Officer, has over 22 years of experience in combining innovation, technology, medical research, and clinical fundamentals to create AI-based hand held devices for point of care assessments and diagnosis. With an engineering background. an MBA from Georgia Tech, and certification in AI from MIT, Dr. Blaivas has pioneered innovation in ultrasound and AI technology for startups and multi-billion dollar conglomerates.

Mamatha Aramaina is a Quality and Regulatory Advisor at Hero Medical Technologies, bringing over a decade of deep expertise in medical device quality systems, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Her background spans the full product lifecycle from new product development and supplier qualification to large-scale manufacturing improvement and risk reduction giving her a well-rounded perspective that she brings to every client engagement.

Prior to joining Hero Medical Technologies, Mamatha held progressive leadership roles at Medtronic, where she led enterprise-wide quality programs across global manufacturing sites, drove First Time Quality initiatives, and served as a lead auditor for FDA, MDSAP, and GMED audits. Her work delivered tens of millions of dollars in cost savings and avoidance while strengthening quality culture across hundreds of sites worldwide.

Mamatha holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ), DRM Black Belt, and Medical Device Management Systems Lead Auditor covering ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and FDA 21 CFR 820. She also holds an MBA from Forbes School of Business and a Master's in Industrial Management from Texas A&M University.

Collin Rueppell is a seasoned transformational executive with over 20 years of experience driving sales, marketing, and operational excellence across the medical device, SaaS, and healthcare manufacturing sectors. He also led strategic and corporate accounts. Recognized for his ability to scale businesses and execute high-impact commercial strategies, Collin has successfully led the market launch of over 100 products throughout his career.  While at Nonin Medical, he led a global OEM business, authored business cases that accelerated short‑term revenue, and built a CDMO strategy that unlocked new revenue streams while reshaping R&D and corporate development priorities. During his time at Quest Medical, he owned the P&L for a global capital and device portfolio, scaled the business, expanded margins, and built KOL panels that created multi‑year product waitlists across cardiovascular, critical care, and surgical markets. His leadership career has been forged by creating and closing opportunities, identifying growth opportunities. and establishing robust KPI frameworks that drive sustainable revenue. Collin brings a wealth of hands-on leadership experience across many healthcare market spaces to the advisory board, helping steer strategic vision and commercial success.
